Cookie Policy
This policy explains, in plain language, which cookies and which local storage this site uses, what they are for and how you can manage them.
1. What are cookies and local storage?
A cookie is a small file that your browser stores and sends back to the site on each visit. Local storage is a space in your own browser where the site keeps information; it is not automatically resent with every request like cookies are, although some of this data (for example your session or the visitor identifier) is sent to our server when the feature needs it.
2. First-party cookies we use
- Shopping cart (30 days): remembers your cart if you browse the shop without being signed in.
- Interface preferences (7 days): small visual settings, such as the sidebar state.
3. Local storage we use
We store in your browser (and only in your browser):
- Your signed-in session: the temporary credentials that keep you connected
- Your language and the site appearance (theme)
- Usage preferences: active tabs, dismissed notices and interface settings
- Visitor identifier: a random code that contains neither your name nor your contact details and is not shared with third parties. It is sent to our server to remember which announcements you already dismissed and to count internally how often they are shown. It remains until you clear it from your browser.
4. Third-party cookies
- Google reCAPTCHA: loads on public forms (registration and appointment request) to protect them from automated abuse; it may set Google cookies and analyse data from your browser to tell people apart from robots, under Google's privacy policy.
- Google Analytics (Google Analytics / Tag Manager): only if the operator of this site has enabled it, to measure visits in an aggregated way. It sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_* (up to 13 months); Google may process this data in the United States under the safeguards provided by law. More information in Google's cookie policy.
- Google Fonts: the browser downloads the typefaces from Google servers, which may log that technical request.
- Payment gateway: when paying, you are taken to the gateway's secure pages (for example Stripe or PayPal), which use their own cookies under their policies.
We do not use any other advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
5. Duration
- The cart cookie expires after 30 days; the interface-preferences cookie after 7 days.
- The session, the visitor identifier and local-storage preferences remain until you sign out or clear them from your browser.
6. How to manage cookies
You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies
- Firefox: Options > Privacy & Security
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
Please note that without the cart cookie you will not be able to shop without signing in, and without local storage you will not be able to stay signed in. Local storage is cleared from the same section of your browser ("Clear site data").
7. Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will notify you. For any questions, write to us at contact@luttebien.ch.
